Question re: tweeter buzz (Technical bulletin JTB00537NAS2)
New thread on a topic already discussed a while ago: Techical Bulletin JTB00537NAS2 (which supercedes and replaces JTB00537NAS1).
To quote the TB:
“Situation: A buzzing sound may be evident from the tweeter speakers. Should the customer express this concern, follow the instructions below.”
The procedure is a simple software upgrade that, according to the Technical Bulletin, takes 36 minutes.
Yesterday, at my 3rd annual service, I “expressed this concern” and asked them to perform the service. They said that they would first have to reproduce the problem. I was unable to do so since it’s capriciously intermittent and I didn’t have the “right” (i.e. buzz producing) music in the car at the time. So, intending to contact JLR corportate, I said I’d get back to them.
Now it seems to me, based on the wording, that this is a service for which the customer’s concern should be sufficient. No need to reproduce the problem.
1. What say you?
2. What number at JLR USA is the one to call? (My hope is that, assuming they agree with me, a word from them to the dealership will get it done. Another 3-hour trip, 1 way, but no more buzzing.)
Thanks.

This is the only number I have ever been able to wrangle out of them: 1-800-4JAGUAR.
That'll connect you with their roadside assistance and the Jaguar Concierge who is supposed to help you with these types of issue. People have had varying degrees of success going down this path. I personally have had moderate success, others, total failure.
