Default It's not a p7 grill

So due to the lack of genuine p7 grills and the ridiculous price from china for a basically plastic grill
Decided to make one
Still need to either paint the surround or hydrodip or carbon wrap undecided at moment
Parking sensors fitted and functional with no false readings and pedestrian impact sensors relocated
Not an easy job but happy with end result

Wow, great job! It'll look amazing once you get rid of the clown lips. If you have other CF accents, that would look really good.

Let me know if/when you're taking orders, haha! I would love to drive without my license plate in the front but when I bought my 400 it already had the bracket drilled into the front grill so I don't want holes in it and just kept the plate for now. My concern was the front parking sensors (I don't have pedestrian impact detectors, I don't think. I could be wrong) but it seems that you made it work!

Kudos!

Used my original surround and filled the holes where bumper bar was
used a e pace grill which only needed a little fettling to fit
I didn't remove my bumper for this for 2 reasons
1/didn't want to damage anything getting it if and back on
2/doing it this way I can still access the tow eye if needed
I secured the grill with self tappers and a couple of out of sight cable ties
The growler badge I modified to fit as the e pace uses a bigger badge
The surround when finished I will fix in place with some self tappers
There are 3 at the top and 2 behind the no plate and once painted will barely be visible
They are actually fitted in the picture

Now parking sensors
They have to be fitted with the connector horizontal mine the connector is horizontal and faces left for nearside and right for offside
The grill needed fettling to fit the holders
I was lucky to get some from a fellow member but you guys in us seem to be able to get a lot done for very few dollars as in 3d printing
these are mine which work well

The pedestrian impact sensors are attatched to the old grill surround I merely cut the surround and reattached them out of sight and put the cable above
the parking sensor loom I cable tied to the bottom of the support bar

Very nice! Glad to see some more E-pace converts. I like your solution for the sensors, mine ended up being "put a rubber vacuum cap over it and tuck it away" because i got tired of trying to get it to look nice. Hats off! Looks great!

Thanks a lot friend, but this is for Project 7 grill, not for E-Pace grill.
I don't think the one on the p7 can fit on the e-pace grille. The honeycomb of the latter is narrower.
I hope gasman shares his.

From eyeball size for the picture he showed, it looks very similar. Thought it might be worth a shot.

I printed the one for the project7 grid, unfortunately it's very different…

This is great! Pretty close to what I plan to do except I have some silver mesh to use for the grill. Thanks for sharing!

Seems like you have solved the two biggest problems with this mod. Can you share a bit more about how it was done?

You wrote
"Used my original surround and filled the holes where bumper bar was"
You are talking about the big, rectangular cutouts at each end of the surround, right? How did you fill them? In the pic it looks absolutely seamless and invisible.

"I didn't remove my bumper for this for 2 reasons
1/didn't want to damage anything getting it if and back on
2/doing it this way I can still access the tow eye if needed"
You did this without taking the front clip off? How? And how will you access the tow eye? Seems like the surround will block it.

snip
Very different indeed... Just curious, would the bare sensor even fit through the e-pace grill in that case? It looks very very narrow...

I don't know if the sensor can get into the e-pace grille because I haven't taken the bumper off yet.
But judging from this photo it seems that somehow it is possible to get the sensors inside the holes of the e-pace grid.

PS. I don't remember which thread I got the photo from. I hope Gasman will give us some help.

Thanks and regards,
