Default Jaguar dealer NY NJ area

Frank (My16 s coupe) here in the Hudson valley area of NYS. I’m interested to hear from owners about your experiences with Paramus, and Westchester county area jaguar dealers. Interested in your opinions on the service department and if you have had your bonnet aligned a known issue and if known how many hours they required to better align your bonnets. All the close jaguar dealers are at least 1 hour away. My jag is due for service around May 2020. Thank you in advance for your comments.

The sales rep I dealt with at Jaguar White Plains was both aggressive and not very helpful so I haven't been there since.
I go to Darien (CT) for service and they've treated me well. My mother-in-law bought a Range Rover Sport from Larchmont and has been very happy with the service she's received there.

Have you tried adjusting the panel alignment yourself with the screws inside the engine bay? There are several threads out there that explain how.

White plains and larchmont are terrible. Worst dealer experience I have ever had. I sold my XF years ago I hated white plains so much. I service at larchmont now because it is 15 minutes from my house, but would avoid them if they weren’t your closest option. I bought my car from Paramus and thought they did a great job. I would suggest you try them or Darien.

On the bonnet issue, I called larchmont with an issue where my hood wouldn’t latch on one side. They tell me to bring it in. I get there and they tell me they are mistaken and the f type tech isn’t in that day and to bring it back tomorrow. I ask if anyone else can look since one side isn’t latching. They say no. I open the hood in the parking lot, look at it for a minute and hand adjust the bump stop for the hood. Problem solved. Opinion on dealer cemented.

Thank you Lani and caviarjag for your comments. I have followed the thread on bonnet adjustments, as the jag is under warranty my thought is to have the dealer adjust the bonnet first. I know their are adjustments that can be done done with the front screws but also the rear bonnet latch if necessary. My dealer of preference looks like Paramus, but I will say I left a voicemail for my service manager over 10 days ago and have not received a callback 🤬. Their customer reviews are good but since the F types are a small production model I cannot get a measure of their competence. I will be calling the dealer today and leave another message. Thanks again for your comments, my16 storm grey coupe, brogue interior ivory stitching, performance seats. I love driving this jaguar and it looks drop dead gorgeous, and I’m saying this after owning a 63 e type coupe for 21 years. Thanks again Frank

I had a great experience at Jaguar White Plains. I bought a leftover 2018 R-Dynamic in November 2019. I drove seven hours from Pittsburgh to make the deal. The deal negotiations took all of five minutes. I was able to negotiate a seventh year of CPO warranty as part of the deal, thanks to this forum.

Jaguar White Plains updated all of the software on the car before I picked it up and even installed a new battery. I noticed that one of the wheels was scratched in three places and they agreed to pay for the repair at a later date.

Once back in Pittsburgh I took the car to the local Jaguar Dealer. They repaired the wheel which now looks new, and Jaguar White Plains paid for it. I also noticed a trim piece that covers the bolt that holds the passenger side wiper blade on was missing. The local dealer had Jaguar White Plains pay for that as well.

Pics of the car can be seen here:

Congrats on the car. I have called the showroom a number of times at Larchmont because it can be impossible to get their service desk. I am talking around 10 calls and one voicemail over the course of hours. One of my friends services his new Range Rover at an indy in the center of our town rather than deal with the dealer. At least in westchester, dealers are the worst part of owning a jaguar—far and away the worst network I have experienced.

Larchmont and White Plains are really bad. Take a trip to CT and go to Fairfield Jaguar. The owner is a personal friend and I can gladly do intros if interested. PM me

Thanks all for your input and comments, very helpful. Larchmont and white plains are out, terrible reviews. Glen Cove (where I purchased the f type last August) and Paramus are a tie and Darien possible. I will pm you fype17 if I decide on Darien. What’s the opinion of the group is it to my advantage to use the original JLR dealer, it’s under original warranty until 12/2020 CPO until 2022.
