Default Jaguar Production Update

As planned, Jaguar has stopped production of the XE, XF, and F-Type in Castle Bromwich, with I-Pace and E-Pace following by the end of the year. Only the F-Pace will extend production into 2025. In December, Jaguar will introduce the concept version of the first new EV's - the 4-door GT; however, it won't be available until 2026.

Overall, a huge gap in the transition. "Yes, there will be a period where you will not be able to buy a Jaguar.”

Jaguar is switching to all EV, when the EV market is dipping. Somehow, this all seems too drastic

Sounds like the period I won't buy a Jaguar is now to infinity. But hey - I've got a lovely F-Type!

I thought I remember reading somewhere a rumour about Jaguar possibly now considering having some hybrids in the mix as we move forward into this madness. Obviously there is no way to know if there is any truth to this, but it makes some sense. There’s no way they are not considering what is happening to the financials of the likes of Ford and others as they fail in their pursuit of EVs at this time. I keep hearing the stats are showing that EV buyers are walking away from them after owning one, going back to ICE, etc…This all is adding up to challenges for Jag…No doubt…

Maybe they’ll commission Callum to make sure they hit the design mark that they need to for this most important upcoming release. Possibly the most important one in their history as a company.

According to a McKinsey study, 46% of EV owners in the US say they want to go back to ICE's which explains why multiple brands are slowing down their transition plans.

I think it's too late for Jaguar. They'd be late in the game to change course at this point and I don't think they have the resources - money & people - including Ian.

Figures also show Tesla owners less likely to want to return to petrol and I think that's because Tesla got it right. No dealers. OTA updates that work... but charging seems to be the big issue with EV drivers who want to switch back. Again, Tesla excels with their excellent network; but I was charging at home, and that's a huge advantage. Plus, the Tesla has a real cyborg persona. None of that "let's make it look like an old ICE car" silliness. It's a computer on wheels. I think Jag will get their upcoming EVs right.
