Hey everyone, I’d been searching for a F-Type for some time and finally got mine last Thursday; haven’t driven it much due to the weather but I’m loving this car.https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.jag...9c20d0b25.jpeghttps://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.jag...bacc14d6a.jpeg

Very nice - and in a rare colour. You will love this Jaguar.

OzXFR 02-22-2018 06:23 PM

Rare colour (Sapphire Blue), rare interior colour (Ivory? Cirrus?), even rarer manual, and it's an S, could even be a one-off!
I'm jealous, that is everything I wanted but I don't think any such animal even exists in Oz, let alone for sale.

Bellanca_XF 02-22-2018 06:32 PM

Thank you!! Yes it’s Cirrus; I had almost given up on the stick as they’re so hard to find but this one popped up and in my favorite color(it is such a pretty color) and I had to pull the trigger. I can’t wait until it heats up a bit, but even with my limited driving I’m in love!!

Welcome and congratulations! Prepare for perpetual enjoyment.

Make sure you know about this thread: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...action-158861/

Make sure you know that F-type won't warn you about low oil condition. People lost engines this way.

Stay on top of oil changes, direct-injected oil-pressure controlled variable timing is very sensitive to bad oil.

I also suggest upgrading your gearbox oil to fully synthetic, it helps shift smoother. Shockingly, OEM gear oil used in the gearbox isn't synthetic.

Wonderful!! And another Manual. Unhingd will be happy to have another member of the manual club :)

The ZF Lifeguard 8 ATF may not be fully synthetic but it is synthetic based, see here: https://www.zf.com/corporate/media/z..._040220103.pdf.
My F-Type auto is now 3+ years old with over 40,000 kms on it, it still has the original ZF ATF in it and it shifts smooth as silk at all times. I can't remember ever reading of an F-Type owner changing out the ZF ATF for something else and getting smoother shifts as a result.

Whoops - it's a manual not an auto!!!!!
My bad!
Yes, I agree, from many years experience with manual boxes (I owned nothing but manuals for the first 38 years of car ownership) fully synthetic MTF is better than mineral or semi-synthetic. I also found that adding some Nulon G70 made it sooo much smoother, dunno if you can get Nulon G70 in the US as it's an Oz product.

Congratulations ... More people to share the fun with :D

Thank you for the heads up!!

I always thought it was strange that my XF(I’m assuming this is the same), had 16,000 miles for the oil interval changes. I’d never wait that long; I did not know that about the gearbox, though. Thanks again!

Gorgeous car and color combination, especially with the manual. A unicorn indeed. Congratulations!

I am also a recent F-Type purchaser and absolutely love mine too. Being in the northeast, I have been 'pinned down' by the weather as well. Only have about 75 miles on mine since I bought it in early January. At least spring is right around the corner.

Good luck and enjoy!

green_hornet 02-23-2018 07:26 AM

Beautiful car. And I love the wheels. That's the only thing on mine that I'm not 100% crazy about. Best of luck!

Very nice car and good to welcome another manual driver!

Indeed! Bellanca, if you start yearning for a crisper, shorter throw stick, Stuart offers a short-shifter that's the cat's meow. hehe.

I may look into that, but so far I’m happy; granted I haven’t put many miles on it.

Congrats and welcome to a fellow former XF owner! You have selected a beautiful combination. The blue really is beautiful when polished up in sunlight. Great wheels too.

mshedden 02-24-2018 08:47 AM

Beautiful car, beautiful color, my favorite in fact.

Really don't understand why that color is so unpopular, it might be a USA thing, but they are rarer than hens teeth - of the 1000+ new F-Types on cars.com, only 18 are Loire (dark sapphire) blue, so less than 2%!

Dark Blue Jaguars had great historical importance back in the late 1950's.

and just for fun, my mom said:

(BTW, update: Ecurie Ecosse seem to have removed merchandise from their website :( )

My $0.02 - these (not cheap but...) chrome bonnet louvers would look great on your car...(they are a JLR part).
