Launch Control
 

So, my mum has a 2014 F type V8 S. She absolutely loves it, and so do I. I was reading online the other day that it has launch control. Naturally I went and looked in the owners manual. Sure enough on page 78 I found "Dynamic Launch." The instructions state:
To activate:
1. Make sure that the:
• The vehicle is stationary.
• The engine is running.
• The steering is in the straight ahead
position.
• Dynamic mode is engaged. See 77,
JAGUARDRIVE CONTROL.
2. Depress the brake pedal and hold with the
left foot.
3. Move the gear selector to either the Drive
(D) or Sport (S) position. See 73,
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION).
4. Using the right foot, lightly depress the
accelerator pedal until the Message center
displays DYNAMIC LAUNCH READY.
5. Release the brake pedal then quickly press
the accelerator pedal to the kick down
position. The Message center will display
DYNAMIC LAUNCH ACTIVE.
Note: Any manual gear selection, from the gear
selector or steering wheel gearshift paddles,
will override the Dynamic launch operation.
Dynamic launch will remain available for
further use after a short period of time.
Note: Dynamic launch will not be active when
the accelerator pedal is released from a high
demand position.
Prolonged application of the brake pedal will
deactivate Dynamic launch.
Note: Dynamic launch is not fitted to 3.0 V6
340PS engine vehicles.

I have failed on multiple attempts to get the launch control to activate. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

If I am not mistaken, only the F-Type V6S is offered with launch control.

V8S absolutely has it

I notice the latest US manual says "Note: Dynamic launch is not fitted to 3.0 V6 340PS engine vehicles." (Which is a bit odd for the US manual.) It used to say that it's only fitted to V6S. So the manual is rather unclear, but my understanding has always been that it's only on the V6S. And it works on mine just as the manual says.

But it may be that Jaguar changed this. At launch, the base V6 did not have Dynamic Mode. (At least, all the documentation made it clear that it did not.) Now it does.

I have a v8s and I can't get launch control to activate either.
