Low mileage per tank
Recently picked up a 2016 F-type R with 33k miles and it just seems that I can't get more than 200 miles per tank of fuel. Is this normal? I'm based in the Bay Area so it's part city part highway driving. Wondering what's the mpg is like for others? If I love at instant mpg readouts in the instrument cluster, it's reporting 0-4mpg during initial acceleration from stop lights and ticks up to 18mpg when coasting. Is this normal or am I experiencing higher than average fuel usage?
The EPA rating for the R is 16mpg (city), 24mpg (highway and 18mpg (combined).
Of course it depends how you drive!!
When you fill the tank, what does your car indicate for mileage range?

I swear I'm not driving like a lunatic, it's just normal start stop city traffic and acceleration for on ramps, merging into the highway. The mileage indicates 200+ almost 300 but I find that the range doesn't tick down at 1 mile for every mile I travel, it's like 3-4 miles for every mile I travel.
If this is an issue, what could potential be the problem here?

First thing: Reset the MPG reading at the next fill-up. (Hold the end of the indicator for a count of five, until readings reset)
Then, monitor. Don't panic for the first 40 miles.
The dash's overall MPG has always been optimistic on our '14 by 1.5 MPG (which is NOT what you want to hear!) but it HAS been consistent over 5 years of use. I don't care about instantaneous MPG.
Your 'normal start stop city traffic' is probably different than others'. I know that my wife drives 'digitally' (zero or floored, LOL) and I always get better MPG than her...of course, I avoid using brakes
because I hate the dust ...
EVERYONE is different.

My average consumption over 12307 miles is 17.5 mpg (UK) (lots of short journeys). Best long journey has been over 34 mpg and at the last fill up I got a predicted range of 301 miles! The lowest I've seen on full throttle instant mpg has been 4. Does yours show 99 on a trailing throttle?

Don't rely on the onboard MPG calculator--they can be wildly misleading (although most on here report +2MPG usually). Manually calculate by dividing miles traveled by gallons used at a fill-up.
