Default Low Pressure Fuel Pump - P0089-64

Has anyone replaced their fuel pump? Did you drop the tank? If not, did you have to remove the seats? Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance!

I've been getting a code "P0089-64 - Fuel pressure regulator performance". My indie mechanic talked to a Jag mechanic they know who said the first thing they go to with this code is the low pressure fuel pump, which is inside the fuel tank. I've been looking into and have seen some indication that others will try changing out the LP Fuel sensor first, with mild success, but it seems like I'll probably end up having to do the pump itself.

Both the sensor and the pump require access to the fuel tank, and the repair manual is a bit vague on how to actually get there. My mechanic seemed to be under the impression that the tank doesn't need to be dropped, but when I removed the parcel shelf trim (coupe) and the trim behind the seatbacks, all I see is some electrical components attached to a bulkhead secured by about 10-12 torx bolts. Even if I remove those, I'm not certain the tank is back there, and if it is, it would be a real contortion act to squat in behind the seats and somehow reach down into the tank to change the pump out.

And yes the tank needs to be dropped for the low pressure pumps:
