Default Need to change oxygen sensor, what's the best way to jack the car up?

So my FType is now out of warranty and the *********** want's to change an arm and a leg for any repair. My O2 sensor is giving me an engine error code so I want to get under the car to change it out. Could someone who has done this recommend a jack for raising the car up? I've seen the $1500 whole body jacks but that's a bit out of my budget. What's a more economical way of doing this that's still safe, i.e. no cheapo Harbor Freight jacks that might give when I'm under the car.

Thanks!

The oxygen sensors are under an extended warranty from JLR.

All you need is a couple of axle stands and a couple of trolley jacks (low entry ones if you have lowered the car at all). You need trolley jacks anyway for taking wheels off etc. Dunno the cost in the US but I'm guessing you can get reasonable ones from somewhere like Harbor Freight for under $300 all up.
Jack the front of the car up with the trolley jacks one on each side on the designated jacking points (about 4 cm inboard of the little triangle marks/indents in the sills), and jack up as high as the jacks will go.
Then slide your axle stands underneath, one each side again, under the chassis rails which are well inboard. Locations are shown in your Owner Manual. Raise the axle stands until they are just below the rails, then gently lower the trolley jacks so the car is now fully supported by the axle stands. Leave the trolley jacks in place if you wish as added security although they will get in the way a bit. Make sure the car is in P (or in 2nd gear in a manual) and the EPB is engaged, and chock the rear tyres using the chocks in the OEM tool kit or chocks of your choice, one in front of a rear tyre and the other behind the other tyre.
I have used this method many times with zero problems and I'm still here to tell the tale!

Edit - I forgot the O2 sensor replacement is covered under warranty so get the *********** to do it free of charge and free of your labour!

Also, there are 6 of them, so make sure you know which one needs replacing. But as others have said, JLR extended the warranty on these. I’d ask the dealership how they’re unaware of this.

I use HF low profile jacks all the time, nothing wrong with them. The error here is thinking you can rely on any hydraulic unit that doesn't have mechanical locks on them. Always use jack stands/axle stands. And then back them up with your hydraulic jack (support weight on stands, snug up the jack after). If you are wheels off, heck throw them under the car as well as long as they aren't getting in your way. Safety first, always.

There are some threads here you can search for, here is one: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...-127665/page3/

Also, try to use pads when jacking the car - the undersides of these cars are fragile and beautiful
