Hello,

I have a problem with my performance seats.
The premium verlour in the back comes out of the Jaguar bar.
Does anyone here have this problem too?

That’s definitely unacceptable. Take it back to the dealer.

Others with those seats have had that issue. The dealer will fix under warranty.

I have the same thing, I took pics and sent to my dealer, and am awaiting to hear back. Unacceptable for a 130K car!

Thanks to the four cylinder you can get the same seats in a 60k car if that helps

I did a swap and put the new performance seats into my 2014 convertible.
As I bought the seats used I have no right on Jaguar garanty, just asking how I can fix it.

I had to replace a lot of the Jaguar trim (leather trim) as it looks like there was a poor application of adhesive to the surface when the car was built, leading to a lot of waviness in the leather and it pulling up. The leather trim is adhered just with adhesive (think of the side trim on the center console, the center pop up vent cover if you have the leather package)

From the picture it looks like you could just tuck the fabric back under the metal trim with a flathead screwdriver. If it's coming untucked when sitting in it, you are going to want to use something like 3M Super 90 both on the back of the fabric and the surface that it attaches to (some portion of the seat), and that should take care of it.

Be careful when using the Super 90, you don't want to get it on the external surface of the fabric.

Ok Dealer has reached out, will replace both seats with brand new Suede Performance seats. Interesting thing though is he can't order the new seats UNTIL he has the car, kind of annoys me as the rain is about to stop here in Cali, and I've only driven the car once this whole winter. He said he has to sit on the car, which is a bit strange, anyone know why?

jaguny 03-09-2019 05:41 PM

He has to sit "in" the car? Or he has to have the car to order the seats? Or keep the car while the parts come?

KarimEls 03-09-2019 07:20 PM

He has to HAVE the car to order the seats, he needs to keep the car while the parts come.

What does rain have anything to do with driving the car?

My guess is he is still on P-Zeros.

Ahhh! But his AWD should be able to compensate for that.

Sorry, I'm anal with the car. It doesn't get driven on rainy days or wet roads (it's a weekend car) hence I haven't driven it all winter (once or twice). Trying to keep it a garage queen. :)

jaguny 03-10-2019 06:08 AM

I would just ask the dealership why they have to keep the car while the parts on are on order. I have found that sometimes the service department doesn't speak the same English I do. It takes two or three rounds of Q&A to get to a mutual understanding.

JgaXkr 03-10-2019 09:54 AM

They may not want to get stuck with a part than can not be returned.

This is almost certainly the reason. If you are known to the dealer there will be no requirement to leave the car (my dealer has no issue with this at all); but if they do not know you, they understandably go into self-protection mode. Another example of why fostering a relationship with your dealer is a good idea (there are many reasons why this is a good idea).

jaguny 03-10-2019 05:03 PM

So the dealership thinks they order the parts and the person will not come back? They could ask for payment up front for the parts and let the man have his car. Time with your car is precious.

JgaXkr 03-10-2019 07:33 PM

You can't ask a customer for a deposit on a part they are not paying for. It is a double edge sword. You have a business to run & don't want to be stuck with a part you can't return. The other side is the you don't want a bad survey from the customer. It is not uncommon for customers not to come back to have special ordered parts installed.

Maybe he can leave a first born child. He can then enjoy time with car until the seats come in.
