I like your taste in cars, unfortunately, huracan was built on the same platform as r8 to cut down the cost, making huracan a reskinned r8
but a lot of company are doing the same thing, Aventador is a beast on its own but hopefully, they make a dual clutch version

I love the car, but there are two downsides that I would like to mention.

- Crappy depreciation compared to competitors

- Wish the steering was better. It's pretty lifeless.

I went from a 2007 Ferrari F430 coupe to a 2016 F Type R convertible with zero regrets. This car puts a smile on my face every time I slip behind the wheel.

Hate it for the gent that bought it new, but depreciation was a big plus for me when I bought mine with 10,000 miles on it.

That said, it's definitely a weakness in the brand (compared to a 911 for example). I love the car so much though that I am not even thinking about resale value, just the "having it everyday" value. On the other hand, if I were purchasing it new, it would be troubling and I'd like to see the line continue for a good long while. Has anyone noticed whether Jag resale value has improved over the years? Quality certainly has.

IMHO, if we are staying in the right price range, both the vette and viper are comparable. I wanted a vert, so the Viper got dumped first.. oh.. and I like my back to be pain free after 100 miles.. lol.. but man, they do a ton right and are A LOT of fun.

The vette compares more favorably. The C7 is so good in so many areas. Unfortunately, they still scream "mid life crisis". And, fortunately I was able to get my V8s for close to the vette price.

Regardless, I don't know how anyone could regret buying an ftype. She's not perfect, but she is perfection for *me*.

I think it will take some effort on JLRs part for resale value to improve, but some of others brands depreciate heavily as well. Some of it is marketing, some strength of dealer network, some quality related. Porsche is likely least depreciating, but you pay a premium to start. BMW controls their market through subsidized leasing and certified program, although I think they lowered there 4 yr, 50k warranty which was the backbone of their marketing for a good decade or better in the USA. 7 series BMWs, 6 and 8 series Audis depreciate very quickly. The Audi S5 had strong resale value. I don't think vetttes or vipers hold their value particularly well. Some studied metrics comparing different cars would be beneficial.

Having it everyday value says it all.
