"Place key fob as shown in picture and press start"
The last two times I tried to start the car, after it has sat for a few days, the above referenced caption came up on the dash. I followed the instructions by putting the key fob just below the driver side vent and the car started. After a few stop and starts it continued to start normally (with the fob in my pocket). Do I need to replace the fob battery (car is a 2015)? If so, are the options to the ***********? Thanks.

Easy to replace the battery. Replaced mine last spring. |

While it was easy to change, I did have to look up in the manual how to use the metal key to pop open the plastic clamshell to get to the battery. |

They cost $5-10 at the hardware store and you can get a gross of them on eBay for that same price. BTW: The word “$tealership” is censored on this site. |

Thanks Lance. First time I knew the "S" word was censored.

Easy enough that I try to do it preemptively. I also keep the batter out of my spare. I think something in the fob is awake at all times for keyless entry and even if power consumption is really low, it will die in the drawer where it lives.
