Default Power point / cig lighter removal

Hello to all.
I installed one of those Cig lighter / USB adapter in the socket in front of shifter.. Somehow the thing fell apart inside the cig lighter and the little metal tip must have fallen thru the internals and popped the fuse. Believe it's fuse 52 in the passenger footwell. But my question is....can I just pull the cig lighter socket straight out or how do I disassemble the center console to find the missing tip and make sure it doesn't short again? Thanks for the help.

You will have to remove the trim that surround the gear selector etc. as I recall, the best way is to pop it from the front first. Once you have that off, the start button and socket will be accessible. pretty easy.

Using a plastic pry tool leave up the front lip of that part

The lip is only 2-3mm , if you insert your pry tool more than that it catches on another fixed lip beyond that and won’t budge.

New and older members. Try to remember that his forum is your friend. Just look a little. The diagram is found at the beginning of the forum page under: Sticky F-Type 'HOW TO' Guides and Information. Scrool down to: Fitting Instructions #2 INTERIOR and you will see a topic: Center Console Trim. There you will find your picture.

Thank you to all for the help. Mission accomplished.
It's thanks to the members that not only contribute to this forum, but those that also point us rookies to the right place for information. Quite frankly, I had spent about and hour using keywords in "search this forum" without success. Very probable it's my lack of experience in knowing how / where to search. Thanks again.
