We all know the F-Type has connectivity, but I wish the range were a bit longer. The connection will cut out if you leave the phone in your shirt pocket. Phone has to be right of center of the steering wheel for the connection to be reliable. Obviously, not an issue for those of you with a bonnet & boot instead of a hood & trunk.

I agree the range is not great. I also use the usb to change and stream music rather than Bluetooth for music. The biggest problem I have is the audio connection does not always get picked up if I disconnect the phone to get out of the car and then get back in a few minutes later. I have to plug and unplug a couple of times to get it to recognize the device.

Interesting. I leave it in my left pants pocket, and have never had an issue, although I don't use it all that much via BT.

I find that quite odd, mine has picked up my iPhone from my bag in the trunk before. Granted it wasn't the most reliable, but it's rock solid if the phone is in the cabin.

This totally explains why I've had so much trouble streaming music on my phone. I generally leave it in my cup holder or pants pocket, and now I understand that it's the bluetooth range rather than something else. Always fine when connected, but I never put 2 & 2 together.

I got the Scosche mount recommended in another thread, and will see if that helps.

Thanks for helping me connect the dots.

Mine works fine in the center console or tossed on the passenger seat, but real spotty when it's in my shirt pocket.

Must be your aluminum foil shirts. Seriously, that sounds odd.

On a serious note... You mention aluminum... I wonder if there is ANY issue with the "looks like carbon fiber" aluminum trim all over the dash...

Where exactly is the bluetooth receiver in the F-Type?

I use an iPhone 6 and have had zero issue with strength of connection. My only complaint is that it seems it should connect quicker upon starting...but I'm complaining about a 30 second delay

Apple Carplay™ doesn't work with any Jag anywhere. Hopefully someday they will see the light, and I see the new '16 Chevy Malibu (starting at $22K) has it.

I can't answer your remote start question for Canada.

Default Difficult to understand

Thanks for the info. Hard to understand why Everyone from GM to Ferrari have it and we don't. Seems like such a simple thing to add.

In my 2014 V8S, my iPhone pairs perfectly, but I can't stream music if my iPod is also connected to the USB. Overall I'm really disappointed with the infotainment system. It's definitely worse than my last three cars ('13 Mercedes, '11 Audi, '08 BMW). Kind of sad that a 2008 vintage tech system had better features and connectivity given the pace of advancement in smartphones, etc. I am liking my Jag a lot (especially with the top down), but the driver experience falls down when it comes to the Nav / Audio / Interface. The lack of a physical wheel or pad to quickly navigate menus or lists is a huge part of the problem. All of the German makes have this figured out.

I have the same car, and agree. The level of tech of the Infotainment screen is lacking. However, if you mount your iPhone on the dash, the experience is complete. I use Waze for my nav (NEVER leave home without it!), and play my own playlist or Pandora thru the USB. I have access to everything on my phone, and it charges while I drive. I have everything I need at my fingertips.

I have noticed that the blind spot monitoring indication in the mirrors can interfere with BT audio streaming. Anyone else noticed this behavior? Would be good to know where the best place to locate cell phone is for consistent BT connection behavior...

The BT device needs to be to the right (left for right hand steering) of the center of the steering wheel. Spotty if in the left shirt/jacket pocket, never any problem in a right jacket pocket.

I put my phone in the cup holder. Never a problem with BT.
