Software Update Guide?

Hi all

I have a 2016 V6S that I don't believe has the software update (anyone know how to check?).

But I am trying to fix the bluetooth connection dropouts...

Is it possible to do the software update myself? Or do I have to go to the retailer?

Is it also possible to get the update without affecting the engine / exhaust note?

TIA

Software update shouldnt affect BT connectivity, and yes you have to go to the retailer.

I THINK the software is a package, and if you opt to get it, it will also affect the exhaust note. IF its needed, you can always hit up VAP for a tune and opt for no performance/only sound editing.

Thanks Nodnarb, supposedly there's a software update that is for the infotainment system specifically.

However, I can't verify whether this exists. Considering yours is 2015, have you done the software update?

No I havent done the software update, its outdated no matter what software you get due to the hardware installed on the car. We cant even use the Jaguar remote app to remote start our cars since the 3G (2G?) has been sunsetted. I have an IDCORE installed on the car (already installed when I bought it) and I would highly suggest you do the same! From the website, its really easy to install and then you get CarPlay/AndroidAuto which uses its own bluetooth/wifi module to connect to your phone. Certainly not as seamless as an OEM, but its a far cry better than whats in our cars.

*You will need to review your car to see which audio/screen interface it has and order accordingly (Bosch or Harman)

Note you can't buy from that site, you need a distributor. The most popular on this forum, by far, is Unique Auto Developments: https://unique-ad.co.uk/product-category/carplay-kits/
