Default Tall guys in a f type

Any of you guys on the tall side and feel comfortable in your f type? I'm 6' 3" and concerned about leg room/headroom etc. I'm planning on going to look at a couple soon and just wanted some input beforehand. Thanks

You should look at 2018MY and 2019MY (and possibly 2020MY if you are buying new) as new seats were introduced in the 2018MY and thereafter, which created an extra 5 (I think) inches of leg room compared with older 2017, 2016 etc. models.

Welcome to the Forum Terrance!

I'm 6'4", weigh 190 and have a 37" inseam. With the seat all the way back, I have adequate leg room and yes the 2018 MY onwards have thinner seats = more legroom. To get a couple more inches on long trips I often drive without shoes or in flat bottom driving shoes - it does make a difference! As for headroom, I like to sit high up, so with the seat all the way up I still have about an inch or so extra headroom without opening the pano roof.

So when you get a chance to test fit an F-Type try a few of these settings and see how it works...

Oddly enough, whether you fit at 6’3”+ depends on how fat your butt is.

Thanks for the info guys, I'm looking at a 2015 or 16 type R. I'm only 205lbs, so I don't think it will be an issue. Very excited about the car.

6'3 here as well, F-type is a tight but not uncomfortable fit.

As long as you are not sitting on a lipomatous phonebook, you should fit with room to spare, regardless of model year. There is a trick to getting the seats back as far as possible as there is a recoil feature that reverses the seat quite a bit from the stops if the seat is moved back too far.

Have a 2017 R, I am 6’2”, 190 lbs. even with seat all the way back and down I find the leg room limited. My previous daily driver was a Lotus Elise which actually had more leg room (once you were in it), and my wife’s Mini is cavernous by comparison. Not a problem on my commutes but it gets old on cross country trips of more than 2 hours.

There’s a lot of space behind the pedals to stretch out on those long trips.

When looking i was particularly annoyed at the Porsche Boxster and Camen and the lack of legroom for me and I am only 5'9".

My 2018 F type is very comfy.

Funny, my 63 MG has room for folks up to near 7'. However you might have to duck to see out the windshield. .

With the seats all the way back I cannot get near touching the pedals.

Each person has their height in different ways.. i.e. some people have longer legs, some people have longer torsos. With that, it's best that you try to sit in one. There may be someone on this forum that is the exact same height has you; they fit and you don't just simply down to where their height has more focus compared to you.

6,2” and I could use an extra inch leg rom and inch more recline. 2108 with the thin seats now makes it comfortable. I’m looking at a 2019 now and part of the reason is the better fit.

I'm 6'2" but sadly with more of a long torso than with long legs. My head brushes up against the sunshade so it stays permanently open.

6'5" and a good 250lbs and I fit, let's call it snug. I am about equal top to bottom, 32" leg.

Not saying I would like to drive across the States or all of Europe, but where I am here it is plenty comfy and as I spend most of my life with the top down, I only have to worry about headroom for the summer months with the top up, and even then I don't have a problem apart from the lack of visibility!!

Trick for me is to put the seat on the floor, as low as it will go, crank it forward a couple of notches and the lean it back, works a treat..

Yeah I picked mines up last week, and I was worried for nothing. I fit very comfortably in it.

I put my 6'7" tall friend in the passenger seat and he was pretty well folded in. His shins were up against the glove box. I then let him drive and he had much more room in the driver's side. He fit in pretty well.

Funny enough, he fits better in a Mini.

6'6, 235lbs, longer legs than torso, have driven for hours and hours... plenty of 5-8 hour days, a few 10-11 hours. 42000+ miles in 3 years and I've never had a back spasm, ache, etc and although I'm pretty active I do have some crazy dumb back problems. =( This car has been a dream. Now the new one is being delivered with heated *&* cooled seats. Fun for the nethers. lol

My wife's 2011 mini is the only car on the entire planet that will actually allow for the seat to move so far back I have problems touching the pedals (6'6"). For real. It is surreal, but then again, the back seat is a joke. But so are most back seats... I still don't get all the Porsche or BMW, etc with the rear seat that's basically for a gym bag. Is that to reduce insurance and make zippy cars end up looking like sedans on paper? I would imagine insurance is way more sophisticated than that, now.

ANYHOO.... I look like Bubba Smith in his Yugo

The MINI Cooper is indeed an optical delusion. The roofline on the base coupe is actually higher than that on most passenger cars. My Gen 1 car is a nice size. My wife’s Gen 2 MINI feels like a big waste of space.

Ours is 2011, so a bit more desirable as it was pre-NHTSA changes that made it a bit larger of a car.

But the below vs Range Rover Evoque is insane.....
