My friend had to have his stored Porsche towed to the dealership when unable to open it with dead battery.
Not taken any chances since.
Many people don't store their cars at their own property/facility so not properly securing it could be an issue. However, locking is a non-issue since you can always gain access using the mechanical key in the door lock cylinder (test your emergency key to ensure it is cut correctly). I would rather have the windows rolled up to minimize the entry ports for mice or other living creatures looking for a place to nest and things to chew on.

In the UK Shell has 98 octane (RON) with 5% ethanol, or regular 95 octane with 10% ethanol.
