Default Top 5 Best Sounding Cars - XCAR

Guess where the F-Type ranks?

Obviously this is not an exhaustive, definitive list. Cars like the Porsche Carrera GT aren't on there. I think it's more of a "top 5 sounding cars we **recently** tested/driven"

Interesting list, not sure I agree with the 458 or Bugatti. I would stick the LFA in there, but looks like they have never driven it so it wasn't included.

The V12 Vantage S does sound godly.

I think the F-Type V8 sounds rather ... uncouth. The Maserati Gran Turismo is probably the sweetest sounding car I've actually driven.

I think there are better sounding cars out there than the Audi and the Bugatti. The V6 F Type actually sounds better than the R too IMO. Unfortunately YouTube video doesn't do justice to the exhaust sound of most cars.

Agree that a list like this without a Maserati in it loses all credibility.

Also agree that the LFA could be a dark horse entry in this list as well.

+1. It really does have a sweet resonant sound.

I like them both in different ways. The v6 has a very sporty raspy sound which I love.

The 8 is a much more menacing deeper sound.

The Veyron wouldn't have made my top 50 let alone top 5. And the Ferrari's F1 sounding track just doesn't do it for me. The sound has to be deeper, probably a V8, and I do think Maserati Gran Turismo's is terrific. But wasn't this a contest of sounds of cars from any era? I'll put my '72 Pantera on that list before the Audi, Ferrari, or Bugatti any day. But the V8 F-type is somethin' else. Had one for 4 days, and it was bothaddicting and hypnotic.
