Used SVR vs Used R - Value

All things equal, how much more would you pay for a SVR versus a R? I have noticed that 2017 SVR prices overlap some with 2018-2019 R prices. This has got me wondering if it would be worth it to get an older SVR over a newer R. I just wanted to get a general feel/consensus on how much an SVR is actually worth over an R. Clearly the SVR's depreciate even more than R's but is it worth 5k to 10k more?

Your answer is right there. Used cars' value is a direct representation of what the market(read, people) think they are worth, so it is exactly, say, 10K premium over a same everything R.

Now is that premium worth it to you? That's the real question.

Personally the answer is no for me, but I ruled out everything except 2014-2015 models since RWD was my first criteria.

I bought a 2017 SVR last year, so I clearly have an opinion

The SVR trim just felt special enough for me to justify the price delta, although that value for money is very much subjective

Exactly the same for me. Bought my 2017 SVR about 18 months ago. Considered R models for a while too. But in the end the 'special' feel of the SVR sold it to me. Yes - 550hp is plenty. I don't need any of the additional features. But I liked the look, the CCM brakes, and the SVR elements

Really only a decision you can make. Drive them both, look at them both and you will know!

Maybe worthwhile considering difference in specification as well as price difference if you're considering value

All SVR are AWD, 575bhp.
I think they all have the fixed rear wing and a consequent increased speed limit of 200mph.
They have carbon ceramic brakes.
Different suspension knuckles.

V8 R : early models RWD, later models AWD.
early models had 550bhp, later models 575bhp

Steel brakes as standard but could have carbon as an expensive £12000 option

Deployable rear wing, limited to 186mph.

Believe the later models, post SVR discontinuation also have SVR suspension knuckles .

Not aware of internal trim differences, which isn't to say there aren't any, just that they wouldn't factor in my decision

"All SVR are AWD, 575bhp.

SVR's may be more likely to have CCM, but they aren't standard. It's a nice (but pricey) option to have. The good news that any resale premium would be fraction of the original cost.
