I will try this tomorrow, thanks. Odd that it would work given that I have gone back to the jag Home Screen and changed source to FM then back to CarPlay without success. Seems like that would be doing the same thing.

I had one bizarre success last week where I plugged the phone in while Waze was speaking over Bluetooth and that snapped everything back into working order. Only lasted for the remainder of that trip. Haven't been able to reproduce.

The only work around I am aware of is for JLR to fix the software update they screwed up in April.
According to the JLR dealer a software fix is scheduled for the August update.

Default Blank Screen

I use non of the above - Car Play, Waze, etc., etc. I have approx 7000 miles on my "old" brand new 2019 XJL. Prior to this week, screen worked fine; just a bit slow but everybody knows about that. Then, twice this week, blank screen! I'm due to take it in to the garage for a fix of the brown, gunk dripping off the insulation around the mufflers. This just adds another issue for them to work on. My guess, however, is nobody knows what to do about the blank screen issue. I thought I might figure out how to manually adjust all of the functions of the screen when it's blank, especially the A/C temp. That'll be a fool's errand. Yes, the screen did come back on the next day. Glad I wasn't on a road trip when it happened.

I'll let you all know if I learn anything in the next week or so; although, I expect to be told that they can't "replicate" the problem therefore they can't fix it.
