what are your demographics?
I don't know what a "typical jag" owner is anymore, used to be a gentleman's car company but now I feel that they appeal to a more mass market.... I have always been a jag man since I was 18 years old (started with a old school xj) and my most recent car was a 2012 XJL Supercharged, I still have my 2008 XJ. I am curious to see the age range of the F-Type owners and what they do for a living and what appealed to you about the F Type.
I'll start 32 y/o, work/own a hospitalist physician practice. I felt that the F Type was more indicative of my personal preferences, I loved the 2012 XJL Supercharged but people always asked me if I was "borrowing" my dad's car. When I leased the XJ back in 2012 the sales associate told me I was the youngest XJ owner he had ever seen (31 at that time). |
late 30s. I'm guessing Jag demographic across all models is in the mid 50s. Think the F-Type will lower average age a couple of years but probably not too much.
|
Mid 40's.
|
50
|
38 I didn't even consider getting a Jag until the Ftype came out. I think this model will really attract the "younger" crowd which may not be a bad thing.
|
Soon to be 57 and never, ever considered a Jaguar before.
Only other car in the running was a '14 Corvette Stingray but the design is too edgy for my tastes and I don't feel they'll age well whereas the F-Type coupe is timeless. More of a musclecar type myself,I'm buying (actually it's a gift from my wife) this car strictly based on how damn sexy it is... PS: Oh I might add I am retired after many years as a fleet director in the commercial truck business...now I just fart around with old cars and take care of my wife, lol. |
Female - Accountant (I own my own firm) - 53
The F-Type Coupe will be my 6th Jaguar. |
You guys are making me feel so old--I'm 60, and my first Jaguar was a 1998 XJR.
I also thought about a 2014 Corvette. |
Late 30s... I cross shopped the BMW 6 coupe, jag xk, and maserati granturismo, was originally looking for a 2+2 but the lines and sound on the F-type were irresistible and I don't regret the choice for a second!
Am hoping Jaguar does an XK replacement... Would be very interested in swapping out if that came to market. Btw, PD2911, it's awesome to see your presence on this board...women are underrepresented with car enthusiasts and it's terrific to see a bona fide jag fangirl here! |
I've been experiencing demographics for a while, but my physician says its nothing to worry about...
|
35 tech industry. F-type is the first Jag I've ever considered, although I did have fun in the XK-RS.
|
60
I'm clearly in the old demographic but I bought my first Jag when I was around 20, a '67 XK-E convertible that I loved.

With the exception of @spinningbull, it appears we are missing the forty-something demographic. |
Early 40's, doing consulting work. I've owned 300ZX, Z3, Sport bike, S4, 335i, Boxster. Was in the market for a Cayman GTS or 911, and even though the A/C didn't work in the first F-Type I test drove, when I drove the R Coupe it made me forget about all of other cars... First time I've ever considered a Jag.

47. I'm a partner at one of the Big 4 global accounting and consulting firms, specializing in international tax and technology.
The V8s is the first Jag I've owned, but actually wasn't the first Jag I ever ordered. I had an XK ordered a few years back, but for a number of reasons ended up going with a 911 at that time. |
45 and on my second jag. VP of IT at a large mutual fund company.
|
29yo, VP sales at a import/export company specializing in building materials.
My first jaguar I've ever considered. |
48 yo. NYC Union Construction Ironworker. First Jag & I'm loving it. Jumped ship from years of the Mercedes AMG brand.
|
47. Never thought I'd ever own a Jaguar and always saw it as an old guy brand. Got passed at the terrible treatment by SRT/Dodge and canceled my Viper order to get the F-Type V8S.
Oh, and I'm a software developer. |
26 years old and CEO of a technology startup. I never considered a jaguar before the F-Type. I was cross shopping a Maserati GT and a Lotus Evora.
Picked up a v6 vert earlier this week. |
