Magic Erasers are abrasive, so I'd be careful.

Tuscon AZ to Ozona TX today, 600+ miles.
Will hit Houston tomorrow and meet up with a friend, and then Dallas the next day.
Then head up to NC and hopefully the path through the mountains is okay - don't think I will bother trying for the TotD again and just try to get back more quickly/directly.
The roads today (10 E the whole way) have 80mph for a long stretch of it - but the road is also pretty beat up in that stretch. Thankfully not much traffic, so worked out well.
Other than bugs, car isn't really dirty yet - spent some time this morning cleaning the window - will do so again in the morning tomorrow.
I am not sure I got the full day of GoPro today, as I think it overheated and turned itself off and I didn't notice until I stopped today.
I think that has happened at least one other day.
Supposedly these newer models are very sensitive to overheating and shooting video does it more quickly - the way I am doing it shouldn't cause it, but since it is in the window it gets the sun and that does it.
Still having fun.
Maybe I can reach out to other car brands and they can pay me to drive their rival models around on the same trip and I can compare

In Memphis for the night.
40-E (I assume W as well) has really super bad potholes in AR and TN right now.
Big chunks of AR on 40-E looked like they were flooded and multiple flipped over tractor trailers.
Guess I just missed the bad weather.
Heading to Cary NC tomorrow.
Yesterday was driving along, saw a white 90s era Camaro with a spare donut on. I passed it, and in order to do so was going well over 70 mph, so it was going at least that.
Literally as I was passing it thought "huh, usually those are 50-50 as in like don't go over 50mph or 50 miles on this" and then BOOM it sounded like a cannon went off next to me and I am glad I didn't flinch to swerve the car in traffic.
Their tire blew (I admittedly was mostly concerned if they blew shrapnel at me or something) and it lowered the front left of their car enough that you could hear the crunch of bodywork hitting and dragging on the ground.
I can only imagine the person was like "This one too?! WHY" - or who knows, maybe they knew they were flirting with disaster by going fast and far (was in the middle of nowhere on the interstate - didn't seem like the area where you could just pop over an exit but we had all been out there a bit for a stretch).

Congratulations on your safe return and eventful [eventless] trip.
You were extremely fortunate, skillful, and, I hope you won't mind my adding, lucky! (And there's absolutely nothing wrong with having luck).
Oh, and nobody sticks it to Mother Nature; although I know where you're coming from. It's like climbing a mountain - one of my hobbies - as the mountain "allows" you to climb it, hopefully safely, as one does not - ever - conquer it).
Sorry for the Zen [ful] post.
Welcome home.

Any other time, that would be a great idea. However, I don't think that's such a great idea this time of year, and he's talking about spring training, which is underway right now. This is the wet season, and while it may soon be just rain on the 95 corridor in Virginia and the Carolinas, it will most likely be snow at the higher elevations.

Skyline Drive
Thank you for the info. I will look into that route, prolly contingent on the weather. We're slated to leave Thursday the 5th early a.m. , forecast looks good so far. Tentative target is Port St. Lucie 1.10pm 3/6 for HARVEY Day!!

A major issue with Skyline Drive (I drove a bit on it on my trip, as my uncle lives very close to a part of it, and I grew up near it) is that the speed limit is very low, and they are very strict about it - and if they bust you, it is like a Federal thing due to being a park or something - much bigger deal than speeding on the interstate.
I of course didn't know this and blew through it making lots of noise, and just got lucky. Found out after the fact how lucky I got.
As already noted, lots of luck in general.
