95 xj6 tire change...
Hi there Jag community. Having a frustrating issue with my 1995 xj6 that is making me feel like a complete moron. Have had the car for a few years, absolutely in love with the old girl and getting used to the somewhat over-engineered quirks of her, however... trying to just take my wheels off to do some basic brake checking/maintenance. Original alloy rims, original lugs...with those damn covers. Have found plenty of tips for removing them if they are free spinning. My stupid question of the day is: do I need to take them off to loosen/remove the lugs or are they supposed to stay on? Factory wrench doesnt seem to seat/grip properly with them on, no idea how to take them off or if I just need to use a bit more force seating the lug wrench. Any advice would be appreciated, and Ill certainly be back with more stupid questions soon!
