2002 xj8 vvt unplugged
Im doing an aj26 swap into an aj27 car. I've swapped out the pickup on the back of driver side cam and added one to the passenger side cam. changed the main harness and kept all the 27 stuff on the 26 including the oil sump with both oil sensors and swapped the flywheels. What i would like to do is delete the v v t system on the 26 by putting the aj27 front cover on and using the 26 valve covers and essentially leaving the v v t unplugged. My question is : By leaving the sprocket on but deleting the bush carrier and the solenoid , do i need to plug the oil holes that fed the v v t or can i run as is? The car is a dd and im sure fuel economy will go down slightly but what I'm really asking is: Will the car go into limp mode/ restricted pro over unplugged vvt or will it just have the yellow dash light working overtime?

I really need to know if xj27 will go into limp mode with the v v t unplugged.

I'm sure you will have VVT codes.
Jaguar issued a TSB for the oil passage in cylinder heads. You will be going the 'other-way' with the oil passage. bob |
