Lack of upload might - I'm unsure - be due to the low post count you have.

I don't actually know, sorry!

I think you only need 10 or 15 posts so I suppose a few more will get you there. It's to reduce spam, but sadly does have this side-effect.

Because my post count is still too low to upload some pictures of my Iveco IT2000 / GDS3500 tool with some details about the USB connector and surrounding parts i add this post to reach my minimum post count (10 posts ??)…..

I already ordered some CR2450 batteries + battery holders to replace the Original CMOS battery - i assume the type number is correct when i look at the size of the battery ?
Can i just put it in parallel with the present BIOS battery to avoid further disassembling of the touch screen ribbon cable and other connectors ?

i just compared the region of the USB connector of my Iveco GDS3500 with this picture of a WDS unit but there are slight differences regarding the pcb layout, if someone needs values of certain components i can check them if unreadable on the pictures....

This is really interesting! We always thought it would be possible to have a USB connector at that space on the board - and there it is! I'm going to compare your pictures with my pictures of the Ford WDS - looking if anything else is different....many thanks!

Well today i hit the jackpot !
i was able to buy a complete WDS kit with dockingstation , PTU, all cables, cd's doumentation + a complete IDS system + a vintage FDS2000 system also with all cables, cd's, documentation, folders etc.
All items are in mint condition and most tools were packed in their Original boxes !
It took me a ride to Belgium but it was well worth the effort, my cable problem is solved at once now !
It will take quite some time to do a inventory of all included stuff but it's a nice job !
I will let you know when i find any rare parts or software, i'm in the right spot on this forum...…

i just tried to power up the PTU in the docking station but it seems the power supply only supplies power for 1 second and then it shuts down.
Is this a known problem with the docking station and has someone found a solution for this fault ?
Can i exchange the power supply with another one from an old computer ?
The PTU gives me the 2217 fault code due to the dead battery - i will exchange that first to see how the machine works with a fresh battery….

If you go back through the hundreds of posts in this thread, you will find ways to power the docking station with different power supplies.

Dead battery packs will cause all sorts of issues.
