Here below, for quick and easy reference is an up to date list of ALL Jagetchs that have been or are currently on site.
I will do my best to try and keep this as up to date as possible for the benefit of all. In the event that there are any changes that have gone unnoticed, please pm / email me so I can amend ASAP.
I don't think I've missed anyone. If I have, accept my apologies and please advise me so I can rectify immediately.

I have a 1991 Jaguar Soverign with 102K miles. Great car, well maintained. I lost my anti-lock system and now have HARD pedal and no assist. Can't drive safely. Can you explain repair ? Fluid is at max level.

Fuel pipe quick-disconnects
 

I have small hands, so luck is with me on occasions like this. Some vaseline on a plastic 5/16" coupler tool, some on my wrists, done.

I have read where people have made some sort of extension to hold the coupling tool with. Others have said they could not gain enough access without partially lowering the rear suspension.

XJate wrote about replacing his fuel pump with the tank still in the trunk, and did so without disconnecting the lines. I have not tried this approach, and have seen two cars where the fuel pipes were badly damaged in this manner. No magic from me, sorry.

My XK8 4.2 surges at constant throttle after warming up. Also, on hard acceleration, the engine hesitates, then the gearbox appears to change up a gear before eventually dropping a few coggs and accelerating away.
I have taken the car to Strastone Jaguar in Cardiff who identified a faulty torque converter without even seing the car.
I subsequently took the vehicle to Bristol Transmissions who test drove the car, identified that there was a problem, conducted a diagnostic check and charged me £115 for the privillage. They told me they couldn't do anything as the computer did not identify any problems though concluded the car was malfunctioning.. Thanks a bunch.

jag won't start
 

i need some major help,, we were actually getting ready to sell my 1998 jag xj8 , it had been sitting at my husband's shop oh for about a week or so ,, with out starting it ,, so he tried to start it ,, it would whirrrr like a mad hatter ,, but won't not fire off , so i ask him if he had his foot on the brake , he didn't so i told him to try that well, then it sounded like he had flooded it so we left it for a while and it finally started and ran for all of 10 to 15 seconds and it hasn't hit another lick ,, what could be wrong ,, it whirs like crazy but doen't start up,, checked the battery ,, charged it on the car if that makes sense ,, he was afraid to take it off of the car tried it agian then had a wierd thing happen with the key fob,, wouldn't lock or unlock the car and was making a high pitched noise from under the hood ,, so now it quit that all by it self ( the car has a mind of it's own) i tell ya , i think it is ticked off at me for trying to sell it ,, can you say ( christine),, please give me some good examples of what could be wrong .. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! brutal helped me once with a oil in the filter box by suggesting some engine restorer and different weight and it helped enough that we thought it would be a good time to sell it ,, !!!!!!!!!!!!

Lookin for Techs......most of the great techs we've had seem to have other things to attend to these days.
I will need to update status shortly to keep things as up to date as possible. If there are any new techs around who'd like to assist please step forward or maybe an existing member would like to nominate someone?

welcome bulldoze! as you can see in Jims previous post above you, we're short handed on the certified techs around here and abounding with people like myself that are barely qualified DIYers. We always LOVE LOVE LOVE our techs around these parts, we all appreciate their input and assistance, especially when the problem lies deeper than new brake rotors or a mass air flow sensor cleaning. Pace yourself, you're time is dearly needed and we won't let you forget how important you are to our group.

Do us a favor and post up a short intro in the new member area and which years and cars you feel most knowledgeable. (Only reveal only what you wish, you don't have to specify where you work, but a State would be nice, keep your identity semi-anonymous, etc if you like)

You'll be greeted appropriately, I assure you. I see you've jumped right in already. Good man!

Hi bulldoze n welcome to the site.....great to have another tech on board.
We've had some fantastic techs on site but they've burned themselves out I guess.
If you'd like to pass on your knowledge and help out it will ALWAYS be appreciated by every member I assure you. Terms like **ealers etc will not be tolerated here as they may be on other sites.
Once you've settled in maybe post an intro in the new member section to introduce yourself around.

If you ned any help, please feel free to ask ether myself, Caddie or any member.

Agreed...Jagtechohio is fantastic, very helpful n knowledgable, a real asset to the forum, although I was wondering if he was burnt out / lost interest as I haven't seen him around so much these days. Probably just that thing called life getting in the way

Jim, don't forget about me. While I am not some ASE certified mechanic or jag certified mechanic, I have been making my way around cars for a long time. Wish I could get my ASE certification, but that is more dollars and time than I have at the moment. Some day.

Sorry Thermo, you are right of course. You've been helping / advising a lot of members with a lot of issues recently, especially electronics and I know its been appreciated.:)

Thermo has been doing handling alot of the Q&A lately, he is quite the versatile diagnostician. He just doesn't have the TECH CERTIFIED tag, perhaps we need to find another label for members like him. Just a thought.

OK, got sucked in. Been lurking awhile. Another dealership tech here. Hopefully we're not frowned upon too much. I can and would like to help as much as I can. Been working 20 years as a dealer tech, Master Jag tech, and ASE master tech, as well. Hopefully somewhere in this empty head of mine there is good information to share.
