Looks like it's off a mid 70's XJ6 series 1. Try posting your questions here:

Jaguar used the "4HU" differential for decades, 1960s-1990s, on various models. Not sure if the 004-25 helps narrow things down.

As for the suspension and brakes, well, it's looks pretty typical XJ6-XJS fare but I'm not expert enough to identify any minor differences that might nail down the exact original usage.

Cheers

That Handbrake caliper arm with the holes drilled in it is from XJ Sedan, NOT XJS. The XJS was totally different.

As said already, used for many, many years.

Measuring the track, messy at best, could remove the MK10, 420G, and maybe the early S Types.

My best guess is S1 or 2 XJ6/12.

Thanks guys. The ratio is a 2.88, from what Ive found so far is XJ6 series 3.

MMMMM,,maybe in ten USA, we had 3.07 in the 6cyl cars, and the 2,88 in the 83 onwards V12.

2,88 with those handbrake levers is Sedan for sure S3 almost certain, , and the V12 were all LSD, so there is another clue.

All my S2 6cyl Sedans were 3.07, and the S2 V12 were 3.31, not sure about the S1 cars.

Looking through my pics the diff has the same numbers as my 73" XJ6 (series 1) . The holes in the hanbdbrake caliper arms are the same too. Everything else looks to be the same as my S1

If it helps, the USA Series III 6 cylinder cars went from 3.07 to 2.88 gears circa 1982. And none, or virtually none, had limited-slip.
