Good leather cleaner?

Just wondering what you guys think is the best product for cleaning and conditioning leather.
Right now i was just using turtle wax protectant and some leather conditioner for a couch. It worked decently, but I don't like the way the turtle wax made everything look greasy.

Only use Meguires on my Cranberry leather.Cleaner andconditioner in one go so takes half the time with good results and quite cheap.

I think there is only 1 leather cleanerAND conditioner. The others are either cleaners OR conditioners (not both). This is the stuff I meant:-

Just bought and used the stuff Buck, seemed pretty good. It was kinda dark and my leather was already clean, so I couldn't really tell how well it actually cleaned, but I'm sure it conditioned good, it didn't smell bad, and it left no residue, so it's alot better than what I was using.
Thanks for the recomendation

If you just want to clean use Lexol Leather Cleaner.
Cleaning and conditioning I like Meguires or Lexol.

One should avoid any so called cleaner conditioners, it is a two step process as with any detailing. First you need to clean the leather to remove all the built up dirt, then apply a conditioner to protect and moisturize the leather. This is especially important for cars with Conolly hides as most high end British cars are trimmed with. Conolly leather is not sealed as are US and other leathers and need to breathe. Clean with mild soap and water.... Then condition with Jaguar Hide Food available at your local Jaguar, Aston Martin, or Rolls Bentley Dealer. Highly recomended and it is wonderful stuff specificaly formulated for the conolly hides in your Jagaur. (I'm not sure about the spelling on Conolly though so don't quote me on that. ;))

Trust me on this one... 8 Years professional Rolls Royce Chauffeur.

Ahem, from the Dealer, it was less than I could find it on the web. Suprisingly I've found this to be true for a number of small items, such as the bumper washer covers, sun visor clips, etc. Don't be too hard on the dealer...

I also started using Meguiars Gold Class Leather Cleaner and Conditioner... but i don't knowI might by a seperate conditioner just in case.

I used the Meguiar's stuff too. And it seemed OK. Then I noticed that it does not have lanolin in it so I switched to the Armor All stuff which DOES have lanolin. I'm using these for now because I happen to have them on hand.I eventually want to get the Conolly stuff before the summer heat returns in,about April...

RE: Good leather cleaner?

Update: As minor fate would have it, I ended up at the dealer for something a little silly but I decided to pick up a jar of Hide Food while I was there. I zipped home and proceeded to treat the leather. I first thought it a good idea to use Lexol cleaner to remove any remaining "other" products. I then used a healthy amount of Food on the hides. And I have to admit I'm glad I was out in the driveway vs. the closed garage, because that stuff is a little stinky. I can't say for certain yet whether I like the Hide Food better than the Armor All; as I think the Armor All has a nicer, slick finish-feel to it. I should know tomorrow after the car sits overnight what the final verdict will be.
Peace,
Tom

Armor-all is not good for anything other than making stuff sticky with silicones..bad for leather..

I've used this stuff on all my leather..it is the treatment of choice for people that really care for their leather..

Thanks, I'll have to look into it Tom..
Is there a specific one you used? (obviously, duh:eek:)....I noticed several varieties when I google Hide Food..

RE: Good leather cleaner?

Hmm, my jar simply says Hide Food with the Bentley marque on it. I had to go to the Bentley dealer across the street, Jaguar was sold out.

RE: Good leather cleaner?

Well if Bentley endorses it, it must be good stuff..Thanks

Was it this stuff here?

dennis, kinda pricey, but I ordered a kit. My front seats have some dirt in some 'wrinkles' and my cleaner/conditioner just doesn't get that gunk out. Thanks for the tip...hope it smells good.[sm=smiley5.gif]
