re-dyeing leather seats - '04 S type

Today I started the process of re-dyeing my leather seats. My '04 S Type has code "ADX - SAND" color interior. I am using a product that has been around for about 50 years called Leatherique..many of you are familiar with their products.

This is a multi-step process that cleans, rejuvenates, and re-colors the leather to look as new...(we will see!).

My seats are in good to very good condition with most of the wear being on the drivers side as you would expect. There is some loss of color, apparently from the dealer re-touching the color when they took it in on trade, the leather is dirty with what looks like cracks on the door side bolsters. These are actually cracks in the original leather paint/dye.They will mostly be removed as I wet sand and prep the area for dyeing.

Today I removed the seats and wiped them with a damp cloth and vaccumed them, especially in the creases to remove loose dirt and grit and hand-rubbed in the liquid rejuvenator. This has natural collagens and oils familiar to the leather which, according to the manufacturer, will push out of the leather dirt, grime, human contaminants like oil from our skin and sweat, as it is absorbed. This needs to sit in the sun or better, in the car with the car in the sun to help open the pores to better receive the rejuvenator. This process should be about 6 hours. I am taking photos as I go to post later when all is finished.

So, how did it go? I am interested in re-dying some leather seats in my house and was wondering about Leatherique...

Inside the drivers door panel is a sticker with the exterior color code and the interior color code. After you get the code(s) you can go here and find out the color(s). http://www.jaguarpartswholesaler.com/1902972.html

I am awaiting a 8oz of Magnolia (AEM) to do my center elbow rest and drivers door arm rest. It will be my first time, so as I did with the sub-frame pictures and walk-through I will do the same with the dye.

I saw some fantastic work done on this forum with dye on the leather. I did my center console and door arm rest with the AEG Magnolia. It came out ok. It brought it back to the original color for sure. Except 20 years of sun and everything else, the interior isn't magnolia anymore! Anyway, the stuff works. It can be done really well if I were to airbrush it on, then clear coat it with the airbrush. I only used a sponge and a cloth. Bottom line the stuff works and is easy to use, if I can do it anyone can.

Welcome to the forum rambo 3659,

I cannot find Trim Code AGP in either the Jaguar 2000-08 S-Type specification document ....

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/a...p;d=1422030141

.... or on the aftermarket refinishing suppliers websites.

The only reference I can find to it is in connection with early 2000MY S-Type door panels listed on ebay UK which is probably not the most accurate information source!
