It is still happening to me too. I emailed the forum about it a while ago and received no response.

I use my Android mainly for everything now a days. The past 2 weeks I again have been infiltrated with these bogus ads. It only happens at JF. The ads only last the first couple of clicks on the subdirectory. I mainly follow S Type, Off Topic then over yo classifieds. It is becoming annoying. I will post screenshots from now on as I view JF.

Have been on internet all day using Chrome on my Android. No problems until I check back in at JF. Almost immediately:

How pathetic that a site this large can't be bothered to fix an issue like this. Accessing the site from a mobile device is almost impossible at times. Someone take some initiative and get it fixed. Ridiculous.

My apologies for the unwanted pop-ups, and thank you for sharing those screenshots. We're been working with our partners to isolate and remove these malicious ads. What often happens is that our ad partners resell their ad slots to other companies, and somewhere in that chain, a rogue ad is able to slip through undetected. We're looking at ways to prevent this going forward.

In the meantime, for those of you using Chrome on an Android phone, Google itself is soon rolling out a built-in blocker for specifically these types of pop-up ads. You can enable its beta on your device right now by going to the following URL in your Chrome browser and changing the highlighted dropdown to "Enabled": chrome://flags/#enable-framebusting-needs-sameorigin-or-usergesture

Thank you!

I too have been getting the browser freezing ads. I posted in the X400 forum, why? & GGG said to go here and report this p.i.t.a. I have gotten the "virus infected" as well as others. I run 2 antivirus and malware apps on my Android and neither is effective to stop this problem. Once it pops up, I must exit browser and reload to view the site again. As mentioned by others it is ONLY on this JF site that it occurs.

Dell,

Did you read the explanation and advice from Jason of forum owner Internet Brands in post #30?

After following IBJason post #30, that did not work.

I went to my Android Play Store, I searched "Android cleaner". I chose the 2nd choice that was offered, "MAX Clean". It's free to download.

I ran the app through it's paces. Seemed to help but, alas short lived. Instead of pop ups every 30 seconds it turned into minutes before they came again.

Sorry these pop-up ads are still happening to you even after setting up the Chrome blocker, joycesjag. I completely understand the frustration they cause when taking over your browser.

We're continuing to work with our partners, but it's proving to be a particularly tricky situation across the web as a whole right now. So much so that multiple publications are now covering it, including this Wired article and this Vox blog post. I hope to have good news soon, and thank you for your patience in the interim.

@GGG = yeah, but not really applicable to me. I do not run Chrome as a browser on my Android. It uses Samsung Browser version 6.2.01.12.

I also use the F150 forum by Internet Brands, and they also have a demonic problem with intrusive ads on their mobile site. I won't even TRY to use Mobile with ANY Internet Brands site. It is totally NOT worth the effort. In MY case, they (IB) are losing a LOT of traffic.

That's not how ablockers work when properly configured.

It's unfortunately a problem across a lot of sites, both those we own and those we don't. We're working to resolve it for our entire network ASAP.
