Technical questions posted in "Introduction" section

I've read the rules and didn't see anything discouraging people from posting tech questions in the new member introduction section. Maybe there's something mentioned but I just missed it...I dunno.

Anyhow....

If technical questions are posted in the intro section they could very easily go unanswered. I'll admit that I don't read all the new member introductions. I'm not anti-social but there are just too many. I suspect that I'm not alone.

Perhaps a highly visible advisory at the top of the introduction section would be in order?

Cheers

Me, Dear Admin and rest of forum team advise new members to use model forums for their technical glitches . Sometimes, our team also move the threads to the correct location . Yup, you're right their questions can be left unanswered but new members should read , browse their model forums as well .Because there a lot of immense information going on there

Morning Doug, bright and sunny over here:)

It's all about horses and water.

Successful posting tip number one in the New Member guidelines specifically asks members to post technical questions into the section appropriate to their model and asks that the model details are included in the title of the post.

The New Member guidelines are now sent out with a welcome email to all New members and are also linked through both Matt and my signatures.

As Caddie says, we do move as many as we can, but it does become time consuming because we also have to check that there isn't a duplicate post in the model section.

We also tend to mention that the 'intro' section is maybe not the best place for tech questions.

A while back I did try to make the Guideline title more visible Bold Caps etc but every time I saved it, the software did an auto correct back to as it appears today.

I'll have another go.
