Oil pipe on MKV 3 liter
Hi,
I'm looking for information regarding the oil pipes on a MKV 3 liter engine. I have a MKV without engine, so I located a correct spare engine, however on the oil pipes I have some unclear view. If starting from the oil galery under the carburators, you see a T connector coming out the oil galery. One side goes to the oil gauge, but I have no clue where the other goes to. Anyone who can help with a picture or some explanation???? Thanks Dirk |
Well, based on the later XK engine, maybe it is a feed to the cylinder head to lubricate the valve rocker shaft. However, normally feeds to push-rod engine valve gear don't have the oil at gallery pressure normally its downside of a pressure feed to a bearing.

Dirk do you mean a 3.5L engine?
|
Yes, indeed the 3.5 liter straight six, that was original to the Jag Mark V from 1950.
|
Right--will check the SPC. THe reason the size of the engine was asked was you stated it as a 3 L engine.
|
Yes, sorry my mistake.
I Appreciate very much your help. |
