Rebuilt, unused Jaguar rear differential with 3.31 gears and posi- very rare and hard to find gear ratio with posi.

This unit was originally from a 1976 XJS v12 coupe and was rebuilt some 10 years ago. Was supposed to be used for my own 87 XJ6 but that never happened. Has been sitting in a dry clean garage since then. The car is long gone and it needs a new home.

The rebuild was done by Rearend Specialties in Santa Clara and they replaced all bearings and seals, and adjusted the posi carrier as well (you can still see the yellow coloring inside used to check gear engagement). The rear cover was installed but not sealed and no oil was added. Seal the rear cover, fill with a positraction/limited slip oil, and it is ready to go into a car.

Note the 2 tags- these confirm the gear ratio (43/13 is ring gear teeth to pinion gear teeth- if you divide them you get 3.31) and the P-L stands for "Powoerlock", which the Jaguar name for posi.

A simple bolt in replacement for posi and non-posi diffs in:

1970-1987 XJ6 XJ6C XJ12 XJ12C
1976-1987 XJS and XJSC

Also likely could work for XKE E-type but you would need to verify that.

Great upgrade for 80's XJ6 and XJS from the stock 2.88.....

Comes just as you see it and also have an extra rear cover to go along if you like.
