Hi abonano from the UK I have a low miles Jaguar S type 3.0 that has a retarded vvt apparently it's clogged up so the mech says it needs a new one fitted,at a high cost!!
However seeing this thread I thought I'd buy some atf, alas a Liqui Moly ATF flush has arrived instead of fluid can this be used in the same way to help free up the VVT? Ie add some Atf flush then drive the car for a while in the hope it will help or will this Aft flush be dangerous and perhaps cause damage?
    I have a 300ml can.
Thanks for any advice and help.
    Best regards

Thanks so much for responding! I appreciate it!

I ran out of options and took the car into the dealer. They said the car lost compression. Do you have an idea how long it takes to 'rebuild' compression?

Hi Anthony, I have a 2000 Jag S-Type. My car started smoking while in traffic. Turns out the coolant hose had a small hole and coolant was coming out. The mechanic fixed the hose. But when I went to pick up the car, it jut refused to start. It cranks fine, but just refuses to start. The plugs fire, brand new battery, brand new fuel pump, the pressure coming out is between 50-60. Do you have any ideas? my next step is to replace the coolant temperature sensor. Please help!

    Hi abonano,

Jeff here from Vernon NJ. Just purchased a 2001 XKR convertible with several (seemingly) common issues - the headrests will not respond to the controls to move and just today, there was a small pool of hydraulic fluid pooled under the drivers door and on the sill, and the top won't go down, nor the rear windows up...

In light of the prices charged by the local dealers (Prestige in Paramus I guess), are you aware of any reputable North NJ privately owned Jaguar specialist shops that can care for these things?

If so, thanks. If not, well, thanks for answering anyway!

    Happy driving!
