    Hello Cambo,
My name is Steve and I live in southeast Texas.
My question is, I have a 2004 Jaguar X type 2.5 manual trans.
The problem is that I think I am having trouble with the alternator.... What it is doing: lights except a few are coming on on instrument panel or flashing on at times. I just replaced the alternator about a year ago and battery but the battery was never the correct size .... and I am smelling a burned smell on the alternator side in the engine compartment. But don't get me wrong, I put my meter on it and the meter of course on D.C. Volts is showing 13.5 to 14.8 volts .... some posts that I have read say check and or replace positive terminal from fuse box to battery.... I just don't know where to start. Do I need to put the correct battery in place? Or replace all the above cables, battery and alternator... Your help is appreciated, Thanks, Steve

    Hi Cambo,

I am in the UK but would like to flash my 2007 bluetooth module. Your last post on the bluetooth module thread suggests that the process is a bit of a hack, which is fine - I have no issue making a specialist cable or building a computer rig to complete the flash with, if you're able to provide details of how you've done it ?

Failing that, I don't mind doing a module swap, just a bit concerned about the trans-global shipping hassles and costs.

Can you let me know what you think the best route is ?

    Thanks, Steve (XKRMonkey)

It is awesome that you were able to get the bluetooth module to work. I was really frustrated that my 2009 Honda Civic had better tech than the Jaguar.
I'd appreciate it if you could update my BT module.

Good afternoon sir! I just purchsed a 2016 XFS with the 380w Meridian system. I want to upgrade it because it is honestly horrendous coming from my '12 XF's B&W system. Makes we really regret not testing the audio system before I bought it. I am looking for the most inexpensive way to do this upgrade as I already spend $70k on the car itself. I looked through your post from earlier this year and saw you had some good tips on how to do the upgrade but I wasn't sure if the '16 XF would be applicable with those instructions? Also, if you could provide me with the pictures of the installation, the links don't seem to be working on the thread. Any help with this would be awesome! Thank you much in advance !

I had been a member for a number of years. the other day I posted a few times, as a bit of humor, that some swap out their motors for a chevy V8. I get this terse response from norri threatening disciplinary action, to which I replied that I didn't realize that i'd violated any thought police rules, and that I guess the first rule was no humor. he said he didn't think it was funny in his humble opinion. I said nothing humble about his opinion. then he said he was suspending me for 3 days, not because I had again violated any rules or was abusive to him, he just didn't like my response. before he could initiate the suspension, I told him to go blank himself and he then banned me for "abusive language". technically the word blank is not abusive. guy was clearly abusing his power by suspending me in the first place. I wouldn't mind having my old handle back. please try to understand, this guy really pissed me off. my impression is guys like that are more about power trips than fairness.

I have just purchased an XE with the 380 Meridian. Not happy with it. How do I go about getting the software upgrade? The dealer has no idea what Im talking about, as you mentioned in your post.

    Any help would be appreciated.
