    Thank you so much for your help on this! It's going to be my first big project with the Jag, and you've helped me be a bit more confident that I won't set it on fire or something. I plan on working on it for the ~5 days that I'm going to be up north; heading there next Friday.

    We installed the 2 rear shocks today and all appears well. Your hyd. spring compressors appear to the "The Ticket" we use slim conventional and took long time. The upper shock pads we all OK. Noise somewhere else. Maybe the left rear muffler hanger. It is worn. Did the headrests yesterday and pleased with them. Lack install spark plugs , Drill & tap R/E for drain plus the 18 stripped trans pan bolts. Probably will mig 7/16" nuts to them and use a socket to remove. 1 nut at a time and alternate from end to end and allow to cool with water spray. New pan anyway. Your advise has been a big help.
