Default 1965 Mk II 3.8 liter Turn signal

I am looking for a new/used turn signal switch for a 1965 MKII. The XK's unlimited price is well over $200.00. Thanks - MB

I needed a new switch for my '63 MK2 and got it from SNG Barratt (USA) for $US208 less 10% for being a jaguarforums.com member. Part number was C25555#. Personally, I wouldn't take the chance on a second hand switch.

Cheers,

Stu

not to mention that a used one is not going to be much cheaper either. They are rare to find in good condition. Buy a new one from SNG Barrat. Careful with XKs parts, they are mostly bad quality and they will not give you any support after the sale. Ask me how I know.

I'm assuming that what wears out in these are the contact points in the switch.
With what they cost, it would be worth the time to drill the rivets out and see if one could make new bits.
Maybe it just needs cleaning up from years of arcing.

A capacitor, Varistor etc. could be added to the circuit to prevent that type of damage from happening; easily enough to do.

There used to be a Lucas repair kit for these turn indicator switches. It included springs and pawls etc.
I remember buying a couple from a local chap who was a Lucas guru and was highly regarded as a fount of electrical knowledge on old English cars.
From memory they cost about A$15 but that was 15 or 20 years ago
Unfortunately, he has passed away and I don't have any invoices or receipts to refer to for part numbers.
It might be worthwhile to chase down Lucas parts.

They come up NOS on Ebay UK fairly often as do the early crap plastic spring variety. The plastic spring is easy as you can have it 3D printed in better material.
