HEY!!!! Today I stopped at the grocery store to buy a generic household furnace filter with which to build myself an air filter for the car since I cant seem to buy one. I found just what I was looking for- which was essentially a gauz-ey cheesecloth kind of thing which I then proceeded to wrap around the opening where the air filter should be. I then (finally) hooked up the battery in a positive ground state. I got no sparks or any un-toward smoke so I summoned up 66% of my total fortitude and (drumroll) started it! It ran like it .... didnt want to. found a couple of loose plug wires and went for a spin. It was exhilirating and frightening at the same time. Even though it wasnt running too well, it went like a bat out of hell, up to about 50- as much as I cared to push for now and when I let off to coast, the bad trans mount made its intro. I tried to stop and it pulled hard left at front, then hard right at rear throwing the car sideways. Geez I havent had that much fun in a while. YAY! I can start sorting problems now!
