Default Daimler/mk2 Restoration

finally got off my *** with this restoration
I have a Daimler 250 and 2 Jag Mk2's in various stages of decomposition, the Daimler body is the most solid of the 3, but stripped of everything.
so I had a friend who has gone semi retired, and does body work in his shop part time, and charges much less than his skills are worth.
front right fender had been cut off, now replaced, a few small patches and a couple large patches and she is solid and rust free (other than surface rust)
now at the dustless blasters, will update pictures once that is done and ready for sealing primer

as much as I would love to do a full restoration as a Daimler, engine, drive train, interior and Chrome are all gone.
I have some time to think about it, but even though the ID plate says Daimler, this will be getting a Jag Drive train and trim

a little swiss cheese in the spare tire well, and thats about it, a couple cracks to welld and a couple pin holes, but she is solid.

it was suggested to cut out the spare wheel well in favor of a larger fuel tank. I'm considering it but would rather not. would love to know your thoughts.
next pics after sealing primer.

VB don' do it. How much fuel do you need? The range is most likely further than your bladder. Jaguar did increase the fuel for rally cars by mounting a second tank in the spare tire well but that did, and will require adjustment to the rear springs and perhaps more. Take a look at the second tank arrangement if you do need more capacity--it is period correct and accomplishes what you want.

good point. I dont really need a larger tank, was just considering it rather than fixing the rust holes.
however if I did need one, a bladder tank fitted to the spare tire well would be a easy solution.

90% of the body will need high build primer and thats it. the remaining 10% will need a little filler and a bit of metalwork (around the grille to match the chromework)
