Getting windscreen wipers to park correctly...

Can anyone advise me how to get my wipers parking correctly on my '66 S-Type. They presently sit at about 2 0-clock. Thanks in anticipation.

On my S-type it would sit around 10 o'clock and when I changed out the old wipers to new it rested at the bottom; the new wipers come with new chrome arms from SNG Barrett. It could also be the wiper motor? These Jaguar wipers seem to have a lot of complaints that they do not work very well so there are upgraded motors, etc. via kits from, https://www.classic-motor-cars.co.uk...grade-kit_4042 I have been thinking about this upgrade and assume that the MK2 kit would work on the S-type but have not opted to yet since I live in sunny California where the stock wipers are getting by but just barely with the help from using, https://www.griotsgarage.com/product...nt+8+ounces.do this stuff works great as the water beads off pretty well and I apply it every day it rains which I am lucky is only a couple of weeks a year.

The wiper motor should be the reverse park type, i.e. when you switch them off they stop, reverse and park further down the windscreen than they normally wipe due to an eccentric cam arrangement inside the motor.

If they are working correctly but just parking in the wrong place there is a knurled knob on the wiper motor that you can turn to alter the parking position.

+1 ^

If it won't adjust to park correctly you might need to service the park switch & striker. Motors are configured as left park or right park & stamped on the cover.

Roughly correct parking.

adjust the thumb knob found at the wiper motor until they park where you want them.

Sometimes the switch & striker gets gummed up & they don't reverse park. Had this issue with mine. Also the red parking wire sometimes breaks inside it's insulation.
