Mk2 3.8 '64 Dynamo not charging when engine hot
Thanks.
The original 10 way connector (and the smaller one) were badly perished. The one you see in the photos is a new one from SNG. They were fitted 2 weeks ago by the garage (who told me the dynamo was not charging when the engine was hot). It is hard to see but I assume they replaced the bullet connectors as well. I have to admit the wires look a bit more frayed than before the car went in.

So they replaced the connector (what's in the your photo), but they did nothing to repair the wires ?
That doesn't make any sense ???
At this point also check for cold solder connections.

I would take the car back and tell the garage to make things right at their cost!
Hi 434HMz, I've just latched onto this thread of yours while searching for generator charging issues.
I know this is quite old now but how did this wiring task progress on your MK2?
The comments from JeFFR1 re wiring degradation just frightened me as my wiring on my 1960 MK2 are in a similar state.
If you don't reply, I'll need to start my own thread up as I have a few questions about tackling the re-wire myself.
regards
Peter
