I purchased a Bell SS exhaust system and I'm having problems hanging the muffler. I can't seem to get the mounting holes on the rear of the muffler high enough to align with the holes in the rubber hanger brackets. The muffler rear pipes hit the rear axle before I can get the holes lined up. I have the car on stands such that the axle is under full load, not drooped down.

It appears that the hanger mounts are 1/4 - 3/8 of an inch shorter than the ones that were on the car. This would explain the problem. Has anyone else encountered this issue with new mounts?
