I want to remove the mounting brackets for my stock air filter housing. As they are held on by the head nuts can I remove them without any affect on the head? There are two of them (don't know why as the housing only has flanges for one). If this isn't clear enough I'll post a pic.

 

Yes ~ fine. Cold engine ~ Just remove & re-torque the 2 nuts
