Starter Carb wiring on MK2 3.4 with HD6

I am attempting to start a car that has been sitting since about 1994, and am in the homestretch. This car is in generally poor condition, and the wiring is the brittle, broken, and spliced - in many areas.
I rebuilt the carbs, and cleaned up all the contacts on the (working) "Starter Carb", and will have to recreate the small harness for the device. There are TWO "button contacts" under the dome cap on the Starter Carb' s solenoid.

So Now;

I understand a single wire will run from ONE button contact to the Otter switch.

From the scraps of the old harness - - it looks like 2 Green w/blk stripe wires run from button contact TWO, down to the "Stop Light Switch" ????????

Can anyone confirm they have 2 wires coming off one of the buttons (or lug) on the Starter Carb Solenoid?

Best I can tell, this single Green w/blk wire carries full time power, and runs from the Stop Light Switch, to the Starter Carb, to the Coil. It seems to run these in series - so it Doubles Back on itself at the Stop Switch, and the Starter Carb
Thanks in Advance!

I have not seen 2 wires on any starter carb personally, and why they would feed to the stop light switch seems wrong, but I would have to check wiring diagrams first.

dennis - try contacting joe curto, if he's put these together he can surely answer your question (and mine eventually)

Jaguar employs many “loop back” clusters in the wiring harness to reduce the amount of point to point wiring required.

In the case of the S Type like jagstuart’s & mine the green/black wire goes from the choke switch (Otter switch) to the choke solenoid (hisser/enrichment carb). Then a green wire comes off of the other side of the choke solenoid & runs to the windscreen wiper motor cluster to pick up power & ultimately back to fuse No 4. (see diagram)

I’m pretty sure the Mk2 uses a similar scheme but possibly with different pick up points/clusters. You will need to interrogate a decent Mk2 wiring diagram. (I don’t have)

I checked the wiring diagram for the Mk2 and the green wire does come from the stop light switch, the green/blk goes from the otter switch to the AED solenoid. The wiring may have been different in the MK2 as the 2.4 had a manual choke, so it may have been a case that the same loom could be used with the extra feed taken from the stop switch for the 3.4 and 3.8 with AED's

Great ~ Problem solved other than dual wires. Power pick up on Mk2 is brake light switch & then back to fuse. I would not lose sleep over the second wire unless you find a use for it. The OP now has an operating circuit for the hisser so can start the car
