SU fuel pumps

I purchased tubs full of S type, XJ-6, and XJ-S parts.

I found what may be two brand new boxed SU fuel pumps which I want to install in my S type. The date in the Instructions Sheet is 2009.

does anybody know to who I can send them in the USA to get them tested before installing them?

Thanks.

I am sure Primaz has recommended someone for SU stuff before, maybe send him a PM

Why not just test them yourself ?

Vintage Jags could probably do that. They rebuild them.

I don't know how!! I mean, without connecting fuel lines and all that stuff, which I want to avoid, testing them with 12volts no problem, but if you've ever removed and reinstalled a fuel pump in the S type, you would understand why.

Some fuel in a container, connect up some fuel line to either side and fit a pressure gauge to the out line to check pressure. Then apply 12V .

I tested them, one almost flew out of the bench when I applied 12 volts.

the second one is dead, well no ticking.

Open the cap and have a look at the points, they are probably burnt, easy to replace from Burlens and there are write ups regarding how to ‘set’ them once you have replaced.

thanks, I will check that. You mean the black plastic cap, correct?
