Vent Window Rubber Glazing
 
For a 1960 MKII, does anyone have a source for the rubber glazing that seals the glass inside the four vent window frames? This is not the seal for the outside of the vent windows. The front vent glass and frames have a small circle for the latch. Thanks for any information.

I don't now know the source as it was in the 80s, but the rubber seal comes as a flat ribbon of rubber about 1/16" thick and about 1.5" wide.

You lay this seal on top of the glass channel in the frame and press the glass in so the seal and glass is pressed into the frame. This leaves some seal sticking out which you then trim off with a Stanley knife. You do the curved part of the frame first, then do the same with the straight part.You then screw the two together having applied some sealant to the corners. I can't recall whether I used any sealant other than on the corners, but it does no harm. Some rubber lubricant is useful too.

The job is not a hard one once you know what to do !
