Default 2000 XKR vert black w/black top tan interior, new to forum

Hi all,
Robert here from Sierra Vista, AZ. I just bought 2000 XKR vert black w/black top tan interior, 117,000 miles 4.0L supercharged. All factory stock (for now).

I'm fire fighter for City of Bisbee, AZ. In my younger years was Ford tech for 5 years back in late 80s.

Work as tech in few other garages untill mid 90s. Then went into construction untill late 90s, when bought a house paint, mobile home hardware store that also built awnings, decks, room additions, garages, skirting, and a house here and there.

As I had gotten my Gen Contractors lic. I kept store untill 2002. When I sold it went back to school and became my life long dream, fire fighter / EMT. I will stay with this untill I retire here in few years.

I also have 1985 corvette, 1992 corvette, 2003 corvette, 1994 mustang gt, 1997 jeep TJ wrangler, 1987 blazer, 1968 firebird drag car and wife has 1997 740IL BMW. Most or them are moded, with most work done to firebird 589hp/491tq at wheels, and 03 corvette 467hp/421tq at wheels and is street legal unlike firebird.

I bought XKR to use as a DD as I was putting to many miles on the 03 corvette.

But WOW how I'm really liking the XKR!!

I have found a few bugs I need to work out on XKR, and hoping with the help of this forum I will have no problem doing it.

I am strong believer in forums for help as I belong to corvette, jeep, BMW and now jaguar forums.

Congratulations on the XKR. Follow this link XK8 / XKR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum for help and advice.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User ID button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Hi Rob and welcome to the fold - sounds my kind of car and a bit different from the vette's I'll wager.
We've got some magicians within the subforum Graham posted...something tells me you'll be seeking performance upgrades shortly, once you're familiar with CEL codes!
One question, secondary timing chain tensioners, have they been replaced with the latest?
