names Paul, from west Yorkshire and i own a Jaguar S Type V8 4.0, it drinks more than Homer Simpson at a Duff beer festival, but i love it.. (feels like i'm in an AA meeting!..lol)

Had a few motors in my time so far....built track day cars and was completely obsessed with modifying about 15 years ago, but settled since then...(family and kids tends to do that to a man)...

decided it was high time i got myself something i always wanted, so when i saw this s-type at a bargain price on ebay and couldn't resist (should have checked it was in plymouth first, but nevermind - 100quid in juice to get it home!). Sold the sensible motor i had and off i went...

rest is history i suppose they say....

 

west yorkshire is in the north of england for all you uncle sam folk....

plymouth is in the south of england....

not explaining how far...use google earth....

Beautiful place West Yorkshire, just the wrong side of the Pennines. LOL

PS, Plymouth is over the water from Brittany and has good links to the A38, M5, M6, M62 and Ultimately West Yorkshire. (bout 6 hours give or take).

Your brake posts were within bounds. Opening, not opening the brake system on a pad change is situational.

Having said that, keep in mind that "fun" is also situational and readers may interpret things differently.

Yeah, dang it, on a forum known for politeness there's always that chance that some regulars just might be a bit miffed when a new guy comes on board and right out of the clear blue describes advice/opinions from others as "complete and utter rubbish" and "daft", advises them to "quit being so ****" and then suggests that, if they ARE a bit miffed, it's because they are "the nervous type" who apparently don't recognize a bit of good fun when they see it. Topping it all off is a boast that HE won't be "losing any sleep" over the feathers he made no attempt to avoid ruffling !

Ha! It's almost hilarious!

BTW I'm from Florida, that's in the southern part of the United States, north of Cuba and west of the Bahamas.

Why is it that you guys from Yorkshire can never seem to get along with anybody?

 

Back in the '80s I had the good fortune of making multiple extended trips to the IoM to visit a fairly large customer. I still think it's marvellous place and look forward to returning soon.

One of the senior engineers would find reason, sometimes several times a day to start a 'you damn yanks' rant. My reply of 'I'm Canadian, not American' would be met with him saying 'same difference' and he'd rant on nonetheless. One of his employees took me aside and suggested that I call him an Irishman. Deliberately insulting a customer or picking a fight with one can be career limiting, so I played ignorant and asked if geography was taught in Irish schools. Problem solved!

 

Scots?... that's further north...yorkshire is in england!

 

i get on with everybody.....just yorkshire folk tend to speak their minds, whilst others try to be retrained...
