Another new (used) X-man

Another new (used) X-man
Yes, yet another new X-type owner. I realize some people don't consider the X-type a real Jag, and I'm cool with that, so feel free to poke fun. Bring on the Ford Mondeo jokes!
I've been lurking around the forum for a while and I must say that it's pretty fantastic, so I decided to take the plunge and get involved.
I live in Queens, New York, which might as well be Baghdad in terms of nicks, dings and scratches on the car. I've had it for about two years now, and amazingly enough nobody has stolen my leaper yet!
My previous ride was a beloved 1989 Ford Thunderbird Super Coupe (5-speed), which I mention because I noticed a forum member that also previously owned this lovely machine. So far I'm happy with the X-type (despite it being an automatic), but it sill has big shoes to fill.

Thanks for the welcome messages guys.
I definitely have a sense of humor about this stuff (and in general). I actually get quite embarrassed sometimes when people ask why kind of car I drive, and they get all impressed by the Jag name. So I normally follow up with, 'Well it's actually just a Ford with a nicer interior. And it's 13 years old. And it was the entry level model. And I bought it used..."
It's shame most Americans don't know who Eddie Irvine is, otherwise I'm sure I could work in some good jokes about him dialing in the suspension or something.

Welcome to the forum robertorolfo,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
I can see you've already found your way to the X-Type forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the US Northeast Region forum by following this link US Northeast - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.
