Default Been lurking long enough; time to jump in!

Hi all!
First of all, THANK YOU!
When the XK8 first came out, I experienced machine lust or the first time. Years later, I found one for a ridiculously low price on eBay (we've all seen that one, right?) THIS TIME, I had cash in the bank! I put in a bid so ridiculously low, even my wife was olay with it.
I won the car.
And thus began my introduction into the agony and ecstacy that is ownership of these fine automobiles.
Mick Jaguar came with issues, but so far, I still haven't paid enough in repairs to bring it up to market value, though I'm starting to get close. I appreciate the wisdom of those who have walked this road before me as I get her up to runnng smoothly, with no CELs, and one day, I may even pass Emissions Inspections and be able to drive her regularly. Such are my dreams, at this point.
I'm madly in love with this fickle, fickle mistress. One day, she's all smiles and purrs, but then the evap test finishes, and she throws codes at me. I'm working with a pro, and I feel good one day we'll lock her down into all smiles land.
Again, THANK YOU to all the contributors! You give us lurkers a lot. It's time for me to give some back, as I venture under the bonnet (had to learn a whole new vocabulary!) again.
-James

Hello, James,
Yes, Agony and Ecstasy. It's a little known fact that this is an alternate spelling of Jaguar.
I can tell you from my own personal experience, however, Eventually you Will get everything in order, all codes will disappear and be forgotten, and when you turn the key, a smile will creep across your face that nothing else can elicit.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome to the forums James,

Looks good from bonnet to boot. I had an XK8 Coupe in the same colour combination and it really suits the model.

It sounds like you've already spent time in the XK8/XKR forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the US Mid Atlantic Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-mid-atlantic-65/ to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

From one Virginian to another: WELCOME!!!

Your photo setting of Dinosaur Land brings back some fond memories. My in-laws lived about five miles from there in the mid-1990's so naturally we had to take our son there for a visit when he was just a few years old (he's 27 now). A fun, rather old fashioned, roadside attraction!
